Johnson's Park

We are a park loving family! We try to go to new parks for variety. This park is in a friends neighborhood (our friends that no longer live there b/c they moved very far away). I know it has an official name, however we've named it the Johnson Park. Here are some photos to enjoy.

Hannah made a friend while there. Some girl that was 5 years old - that is all the info I was able to get from Hannah - they played tag and then started running all over the park chasing squirrels. They ran for such a long time. And you bet they went to bed very well. :)

Caleb and Daddy

Joshua and Caleb were cleaning the driveway of sticks today and found many neat things. They found a snake (I didn't have my camera at that time) and this lizard. Very cool for Caleb. Then we called Logan (our dog) over to get it. Very fun for Logan.

Caterpillar fun

Well we've done it again. Our spring science project. If you remember from last year our caterpillar Hermie, then you will be excited to meet this year's 'Shottie.' Hannah named it. She is really into making up names. Hannah found one and we made it in a temp home (I didn't have the big box that we used last year to give it a 'proper' home). She was so excited about it. Her and Caleb got leaves and sticks. It was great fun. It was so nice to have the same type caterpillar as last year, we already knew how to take care of it.

That day the kids found 2 more catterpillars and we made them a seperat home. They too made their cocoons over night. The next day the kids found 3 more. The same thing happened with them. The next day they found 3 more and I said enouph! They too morphed into their cocoons overnight. We didn't have to worry about feeding them at all. :) We may even have saved these little things. They were in our home during the freak April freeze.

When we went to check on Shottie the next day, he was already making his cocoon! I don't know if he just didn't like us, or if it was his time to morph?!?! This is a pretty neat picture of the beginning stages of the cocoon making.

About 2weeks later we noticed one moth. I'm quite sure it was our Shottie. We had put all the cocoons in one container, however he was the first to be a cocoon. We brought him outside to let him go and he got caught under another caterpillars cocoon. We saved him again.

We had a good time setting moths free for 3 days.

Storm Night

A storm came threw tonight! I good size one at that! The city sirens were going off, Hail pounded our house and the kids went screaming nuts. For many reasons there was screaming:
We needed to turn off the TV so we could all go to the closet. That sent Caleb screaming. Abrianna decided it was time for milk, NOW. So she was screaming. Hannah didn't want to go to the closet because the light was not yet on in there, this sent her screaming, she was also crying, "There is big rain noise, mommy what is the big rain noise?" Then Sarah took a toy away from Hannah and she slapped Sarah and that sent Sarah screaming. All the while I am trying to get them in the closet and get the light on and get Abrianna some milk, and talk with my husband over IM (He is at the Speed Way working). I got the light on, color books, and milk for Miss Abrianna... they started to calm down a bit and then my mom called. "Grammy is on the phone," I say, "I want to talk," Caleb and Hannah respond. "Sit down and be quite and we can take turns talking," I say, that worked! Finally I could sit on IM again with Joshua and look at the weather reports online. Why look at it online? Because I can see what it is out the window. :) At one point I looked out the back and saw softball hail. That is when I was telling Joshua on IM to find a phone! I got a little worried. But then I looked out the front and there was only golf ball sized and baseball sized and knew it wasn't as bad as I was thinking. Then I took a picture of the kids. :) (Knowing I was going to blog our evening!)

This is our front and back yard after the storm passed. The hail melted so fast! The temp all day was in the 70's so I guess that is why.

This is the piece that was softball sized but melted to a baseball by the time I got to it.

So what do you do after a storm? After all the excitement of being trapped in mom and dad's closet? You go play in it!!!

Sarah was so funny. (If you know her at all then you would understand this.) She starts jumping up and down and dancing saying, "The rain is sliding!"

We have a tree that drops the weirdest brown berry like balls. Tonight it dropped very pretty flowers and they smelled great. Hannah collected them to put in a vase.

Caleb had great fun! He threw the ice in the air and watched it crash on the cement. Then he had the brilliant idea to play baseball! He is a fun boy. Like his dad!

Easter celebration at home

We had Grammy, Mark and Lindsey over for Easter. Michelle made a surprise visit! Very nice to see her. We had lunch together and Lindsey and I hid eggs for the kids to really hunt. Grammy had Easter gifts and she gave me a Reester Bunny from Reese's. It was the best! Good times, good times.

Egg hunt with FBC Grapevine

Another church egg hunt! We were running late. They started promptly at 9:15. Why so early?!?! As I was getting the kids shoes on and getting the baby bag ready I didn't think of looking outside to see what the weather was like. As we were heading to the car I was thinking, 'it's kind of chilly.' I was glad we had our winter stuff in the car. As I was putting Sijah's seat in the car I was thinking, 'there is weird white stuff falling.' SNOW! Can you believe it? SNOW in April in Texas?!?! Crazy! Well we went to the park where the church was having the hunt and we were late. My mom was there waiting for us and she let the preschool director know we were on our way. They saved some eggs for our children. How nice! The Crispin kids had their very own private egg hunt. :) Dad stayed in the car with the 2 youngest while the 3 oldest had fun with eggs in the freezing cold.

This is Caleb's buddy. His constant face at the church. Caleb is not good with change. If we go to church and he doesn't see Mrs. Kirsey (I spelled her name wrong on the photo) he has a hard time. It's getting better now that we've been there nearly a year. We are very greatfull for the patience and love she has towards our children (and others I'm sure).

The prize table was very impressive. Caleb got some really neat cars and Hannah got a bubble blower, Sarah got a big egg with candy and they picked out a soft bunny for Abrianna. Very cool! Literally! :)
