Moms for Modesty

I saw this on a friends blog and thought it was worth passing on.
Moms for Modesty is a mission statement for mothers to dress their daughters modesty and to buy clothes from retailers that sell modest clothing. This is a very good thing, calling moms to make a commitment to buy clothing for their children that is God honoring.

Moms for Modesty Mission Statement

* As a Mom for Modesty I believe in common-sense modesty for girls and young women.
* I believe in refraining from sexualizing
our girls and young women.
* I believe that it is unwise and unfair
to taunt boys and young men by permitting
my daughter(s) to dress in an immodest manner.
* I believe that true beauty comes from within and I strive to teach my daughter(s) this truth.
* I will loyally shop at retailers that provide girls' and young womens clothing
that is modest, affordable and stylish.

Retailers that provide these clothes according to this site are:
Lands' End
Gymboree
Old Navy

I say, you can find modest clothes at the Targets, WalMarts and Second Hand Shops, not just the higher priced retailers suggested at this site.

The big question is: What is modest?
Modest is presenting yourself in a God honering way. Your dress, your attitude...ect. I believe that modesty is not just a word for women. Men also need to be modest. In the area of dress as well as presintation.
Leave your comments please! How would you define modesty? :)

Here are some sites that specialize in modest clothing:
Shade Clothing
Coverwear
Heart of Modesty
Modest World Just take the clothing into consideration. I'm looking at the skirts. :)
Wholesome Wear This is a bit 'out there,' but very modest. :)

Books on modesty:

Every Man's Battle Series
The Fashion Battle: Is It Worth Fighting? By Dannah Gresh This is an article by the author of great books mentioned.
There are many more, these are just a few that I have read. (except the first one)

7th Heaven: 9

34wks: The vernix is thick on the baby’s skin and the lanugo is almost completely gone.

35wks: Baby is about 17” and weighs about 4 ½ pounds. From this point on his growth will be slow and steady as he continues to put on weight and fill out.

The 6th of Feb. my cerclage comes out and then it is just waiting on God's timing. My Dr. has always said that I'd deliver very soon after having the cerclage out, which has never happened. I suspect that I'll be induced on either the 16th or the 23rd of Feb. It is getting closer!
My Sunday School class at FBC Grapevine is having a shower for me! A 5th baby getting a shower! It's going to be fun and I can't wait. Oh I will have my camera with me. :) It'll be blogged. :)
We have a name for our boy, but I am blogging this with my husband at work... so you will have to just wait! :) That is mean, I know. I think that by next week we'll have the middle name and then I will let you all out there know.

A Chick-Fil-A Night

When it's been a real 'fun' day and I don't think I can cook, Joshua takes us out. Tonight was one of those nights! We went to Chick-Fil-A. I must say that that place has it going on for the mom! They have cereal bowls with cheerios for free! What a great idea.

While I was in line there was a group of girls that started to talk to me. One says, "Has anyone told you today that you are glowing?" I was taken back and just laughed. I sure don't feel like I am glowing from pregnancy, I feel like I am swelling and retaining water! :) These 3 girls continued to talk with me while waiting for our food. They were just a good group of Christian girls out together. It reminded me of high school days when I'd go out with my friends. It was nice. And thou her comment was not expected and kind of weird, it really made my day. They thought it was neat that we had a big family. They too were from a big family. One of the girls said that she was one of five. I tell you, I'm not the only nut out there that is blessed with children.

After dinner the kids took off to play. Here are some pictures of their fun.
They have this thing that spins, and the kids took it and ran around it like a May Pool. It was silly. Sarah tripped a couple of times; she tries so hard to keep up with Hannah and Caleb.

Slides are fun. Not sure why, but kids love them! Abrianna had even started to slide, face first... but she loves it. :)

Abrianna and Dad were inside while we were playing, she was finishing up those free cheerios!

This was the first time that Sarah was able to get up inside these hamster tubes and slide. She was so excited. She normally gets stuck and screams for help. Not today! She was sliding like the big kids.

Caleb loves these things when he can up too. The ones at McDonalds are too big for him. But this one was a good size. He likes being in the "bubble."

Abrianna came outside after she was done with those FREE cheerios. (Have I mentioned that it is so cool for a restrant to offer free food for the toddlers!) She got right in there with her siblings. I don't think that Abrianna knows that she is only one year old.

Get them counting early and they can do the checkbook. :) Ha Ha.

We had a good night and I had a wonderful night of not cooking! Thank you wonderful husband!!!

Photo Shoot at Target

Grammy took us to get pictures with the Christmas outfits she gave them. We were scheduled to go to WalMart but their camera broke. So, we called every WalMart in our area and they were booked (this was the Saturday before Christmas weekend), so we started to call Targets. There was one that had an opening. The kids were ready so of course we went. Now, I liked the way they took the pictures, but I do not like their pricing! We haven't bought any of the pictures (you get one 8x10 free). But I can share the pictures with you.

Birthday: Abrianna is 1yr

She is 1yr old! It is so amazing how fast a year goes by. We had a fun evening with just our family celebrating Abrianna’s day. We got her a bigger baby doll of her own and balloons are always a favorite during birthdays.

Only 2 more events and then we take a 2m break. It starts again in June. :) Our calendar is full of birthday parties. I'm starting to really like cake! :)

Snow Day!

Texas has had cold weather for days in a row. Unheard of! Snow day today. The last snow day that we had Sarah was napping when we played and then it melted before she was able to see it. So this was Sarah's first time to see snow. We told the kids to look out the window when they woke up and Sarah says, "A no day, a no day, a no day!" We had some fun in the Texas ice-want-a-be-snow.

We got a laundry basket out to do some sledding. Ha Ha. The kids really enjoyed that!

Another fun day at the Crispin home. Snow days are always exciting.

Ice Day!

An ice day in Texas! It's a cold day and the kids bundled up to play in the ice.

Our evergreen tree was so weighed down by the ice. Hannah said that it was pretty.

This is Hannah's hand pointing to the icicles on the c-saw toy. After she pointed to it, Caleb came over and knocked them all off. What a boy. :)

The trees were covered in ice. They looked so cool.

Sarah got an icicle from our fence.

Caleb got out a piece from the pool.

Hannah got a big piece from the pool.

A fun Ice day!

Playing with Daddy

This is a look into a typical 'Daddy Children Play Time.'

Here you can see Abrianna trying to walk. She has been taking up to 15 steps. She still need to work on her balance. :)

This is our girl. Bottle and blanket in hand. None of the other children got attached to any one thing. Abrianna loves this blanket. It is the blanket that I had for her when she was born and it has taken a beating over the year. It used to be so soft and bright and now, well. :)

They have so much fun together. Daddy and all the kids are so cute. It is so rewarding to have a big family. It will be even more fun to see how another boy will add to the mix.
